The School Library Media Center seeks to create a warm, inviting, and integral learning environment for the students of Charlestown Elementary School.
The media center has more than 12,000 books, a smart board, and a reading nook to serve the school’s 250+ students in grades K-4.
Library Policies
Lost/Damaged Books: Lost and significantly damaged books must be paid for. You can send in cash or write a check payable to Charlestown Library SAF.
Book Selection: Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 check out one book per week. Grade 3 and Grade 4 check out 2 books every week.
If children forget their books, they will select a book during library class once their book is returned. Overdue notices are sent out once a month.
Children self select "just right" books in all grades. It is my goal that children choose books that make them happy and life-long readers.
